Two renewable energy powerhouses tie up for mega project in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon is reportedly powering Waaree Group’s maiden wind project in Andhra Pradesh through a 201.6 MW order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the group’s independent power arm.

Executed under the Suzlon DevCo model, the project is said to mark a strategic milestone in both companies’ evolution as leading integrated renewable energy solutions players, an official release says.

As renewable energy projects become larger and more complex, end-to-end execution models like DevCo are emerging as preferred models to enable faster execution, and reduce development risks.

Under the project, Suzlon will install 64 flagship S144 wind turbine generators, with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each in Andhra Pradesh.

Suzlon will deliver its comprehensive offering, covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP), commissioning, and lifetime operations and maintenance services, the release said.

Girish Tanti, Vice-Chairman, Suzlon Group, is quoted in the release as saying: “This partnership is strategically important as it unites two companies whose growth has mirrored the evolution of India’s renewable energy sector. Waaree and Suzlon have been trailblazers in solar and wind, respectively, each building world class manufacturing ecosystems and establishing a strong global presence. As both evolve into integrated renewable energy leaders, this partnership reflects the industry’s future — where customers seek integrated solutions, not standalone technologies, and where the DevCo business model is gaining strong momentum.”

Pawan Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer, WFEPL, is quoted as saying: “We are building a diversified renewable portfolio that goes beyond solar energy to serve India’s growing energy needs. This 201.6 MW wind project with Suzlon in Andhra Pradesh is an important milestone, and we look forward to a long-term partnership that strengthens India’s renewable energy ecosystem.”
