This move by Indian Railways will ensure fashion is in station and vice-versa…

Bengaluru: In a move aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and boosting non-fare revenue, the Bengaluru division of South Western Railway is set to call e-auctions and tenders inviting reputed single-brand companies to establish premium single brand retail outlets at all major railway stations.

The initiative follows a new policy introduced by the Railway Board, for awarding of contracts by allotting available unused vacant space for premium stalls through an e-auction process.

These outlets may include high-end brands offering apparel, footwear, travel accessories and other lifestyle products catering to the evolving needs of railway passengers.

These stalls shall be set up in prime locations within station premises of all major stations which have high passenger footfall and space availability.

The aim is to not only offer quality products and services to travellers, but also to enhance the overall ambience of railway stations.

The allotment will be carried out through the transparent e-auction mechanism and interested single-brand entities have been encouraged to participate in the process.

Interested parties may reach out to the Office of the Divisional Commercial Manager, South Western Railway, Bangalore Division for further information and details on participation, a press release by Pranesh K.N., PRO, Bengaluru says.
