Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) celebrated its 42nd Graduation Day at the institution premises in Bengaluru recently.
A total of 247 graduates received their degrees during the ceremony. The graduating group comprised 151 MBBS students, 14 MD/MS postgraduates, 63 DM/M.Ch. super-speciality graduates, and 19 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) graduates.
Dr. H.R. Shruti secured the highest number of medals and was awarded the Best Outgoing Student title, and was honoured by the Chairman.
In total, 20 graduates received medals for outstanding academic achievements.
The chief guest for the programme was Dr. Gireesh Warawdekar, Interventional Radiologist at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, and an alumnus of RMC who delivered the Graduation Day address.
In his speech, he encouraged the graduates to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, lifelong learning, and service to society while pursuing their medical careers.
Dr. M.R. Jayaram, Chairman, Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), and Chancellor, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), presided over the function and congratulated the graduates on their achievements.
In his address, he emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and stated: “As healthcare evolves with artificial intelligence and digitalization, remember that the human mind remains the most powerful tool. Your success will depend on how quickly you can think, predict, and heal those who place their trust in you.”
He also added: “An MBBS degree is not merely a qualification; it is the foundation of a lifelong commitment to learning, service, and excellence. The knowledge and values you have acquired during your medical education will shape not only your future but also the lives of countless patients and families you will serve.”
