Railway station layouts, all on your fingertips, with an expanded ‘Namma Nakshe’

Bengaluru: In a major step towards enhancing passenger convenience and digital accessibility, the Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) has expanded “Namma Nakshe”, the QR-based web application for station navigation, to 14 stations across the division.

Initially launched at KSR Bengaluru station, the Namma Nakshe facility is now also available at SMVT Bengaluru, Bangarapet Junction, Kengeri, Krishnarajapuram, Yelahanka Junction, Karmelaram, Hosur, Hindupur, Mandya, Ramanagaram, Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam, Tumakuru, and Whitefield stations.

The web-based application, hosted at www.nammanakshe.com provides real-time, station-specific navigation assistance through an interactive digital map accessible by scanning a QR code displayed at the station premises.

Passengers can instantly view 2D layouts of the stations, including platforms, exits, footbridges, subways, waiting halls, restrooms, lifts, escalators, ramps, drinking water points and catering stalls.

The interface offers image-based guidance and route options, helping travellers choose the most convenient paths and navigate easily between concourse and platforms.

The application also provides quick access to essential details such as tariffs for cloak rooms, parking, battery car services, and catering stalls, along with contact information for wheelchair assistance, Railway Protection Force helpline and Child Helpline.

Apart from this ramps and lifts are clearly marked, supporting senior citizens, passengers with luggage and families with children to move comfortably across the stations, a media release signed by Pranesh K.N., PRO, Bengaluru, says.
