OPPO unveils its Reno16 series with engaging AI-powered features

Bengaluru: OPPO India has expanded its premium smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Reno16 Series, introducing the Reno16 5G and Reno16c 5G, aimed at users seeking advanced mobile photography, artificial intelligence-powered productivity and premium design.

The new Reno16 Series debuts India’s first HoloVerse 3D Design, featuring an eye-catching 3D Pop Planet effect that creates the illusion of a floating celestial body beneath the phone’s surface.

Available in Starry White, Twilight Violet and Stellar Purple, the smartphones combine premium aesthetics with aerospace-grade aluminium frames and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for enhanced durability against dust and water.

Photography takes centre stage with a 50MP AI Portrait Camera equipped with a 3.5x telephoto lens, Natural Tone Imaging and 4K HDR video recording at 60fps across all focal lengths.

The company says the camera system delivers professional-quality portraits with natural skin tones and realistic colours while offering enhanced low-light performance through a dual flash system.

Strengthening its AI ecosystem, OPPO has introduced a suite of creative tools including AI Remix Collage, Pop Cam, Popout 2.0, AI Perfect Shot, AI Eraser, AI Unblur and AI Studio, enabling users to transform photos and videos into social media-ready content with minimal effort.

A new AI Snap Key provides instant access to the camera, AI Mind Space, voice recorder and translation tools at the press of a button.

The Reno16 Series also marks the arrival of ColorOS 16, integrating AI assistants powered by multiple large language models to help users organise information, manage expenses, translate conversations and menus, summarise meetings and digitise documents.

OPPO describes the AI Mind Space feature as a ‘second brain’ that intelligently stores and organises personal information for quick retrieval.

On the hardware front, the Reno16 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, while the Reno16c features the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. Both smartphones support AI LinkBoost 4.0 for faster connectivity and AI HyperBoost 2.0 for smoother gaming performance. Battery life is another highlight, with the Reno16 housing a 6,700mAh battery and the Reno16c a 7,000mAh battery, both backed by 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.

Expanding its ecosystem, OPPO also unveiled OPPO Bubble, its first smart camera companion that magnetically attaches to the phone and allows users to capture high-quality selfies using the rear cameras. The accessory also functions as a wireless remote and lifestyle companion for content creators.

The company simultaneously launched the OPPO Enco Air5 wireless earbuds, offering up to 52dB Active Noise Cancellation, AI-powered call noise reduction, up to 54 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 6.1 connectivity and seamless integration with AI features.

The Reno16 5G is priced from ₹61,999, while the Reno16c 5G starts at ₹46,999. The smartphones will go on sale from July 9 through Amazon, Flipkart, OPPO’s online store and leading retail outlets across India.
