Karnataka approves investment proposals worth Rs 15,441.17 crore during meeting of Ministers

Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka recently convened the 65th meeting of the State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) along with Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, M.B. Patil, and approved six investment proposals amounting to Rs. 15,441.17 crore.

These investments are expected to generate employment opportunities for 5,277 people, reaffirming Karnataka’s position as a preferred investment destination in India.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Minister for Energy K.J. George, Minister for Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy, and Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and IT & BT Priyank Kharge.

The committee also approved four new investment proposals amounting to Rs 13,921 crore, expected to create 3,948 jobs.

Notable among these are Emmvee Energy Private Limited, which plans to invest Rs 5,495 crore and generate 2,508 jobs, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, which received approval for two proposals worth Rs 3,000 crore in Yadawad, Belagavi district, with an employment opportunity of 570 people and Rs 3,020 crore in Chittapur , Kalaburagi district, promising jobs to 570 people. Shree Cement Limited, which will invest Rs 2,406 crore, promises to provide employment to 300 people.

In addition to the new proposals, two additional investment and amendment proposals were approved, totaling Rs. 1,520.17 crore, expected to generate 1,329 jobs.

These include Bosch Automotive Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., which will invest Rs 1,330 crore, creating 958 jobs, and Colortone Textiles Private Limited, which plans to invest Rs 190.17 crore and generate 371 job opportunities in the process.

Further, the committee also granted extension of time and additional land allotments for 10 amendment project proposals at various stages of implementation.

These include prominent projects such as:

  1. JSW Neo Energy Ltd — to establish a 300 MW pumped storage project
  2. Exide Industries Limited –20 acres of additional land allotted at Hi-tech Defence and Aerospace Park- Phase-II, Devenahalli Taluk, Bengaluru.
  3. SLR Metaliks Limited — Project will be implemented in two phases till 2027-28
  4. Rasasri Tech Park LLP — to establish an integrated township
  5. Vanya Steels Private Limited – which will establish Beneficial, Sponge Iron, Billet Plant, Induction Furnaces with LRF, Rolling Mill, Pipe Mill, Galvanizing Plant, Oxygen Plant, Cement Grinding unit and Captive Power Plant of 34 MW.
  6. Indian Cane Power Limited – to establish 15,000 TCD Sugar Plant with 70 MW Cogen Power Plant and 180 KLPD Distillery Plant
  7. Khayati Pipes and Power Private Limited – to establish an Integrated Steel Plant, Beneficiation and Pellet Plant, Sponge Iron, HR, CR and GI Coils, Pipes and Rolls with 40MW captive power.
  8. G M Sugar and Energy Limited – which will enhance Co-Generation capacity from 30 MW to 32 MW
  9. UltraTech Cement Limited – to establish 4.0 MTPA Clinker, 5.0 MTPA Cement, 20 MW of Waste Heat Recovery System and 5.1 MTPA Limestone manufacturing unit.
  10. Uflex Limited – to establish Polyester Film, BOPP Film, CPP Film plant.
