Grand celebrations dedicated to Lord Subramanya, in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Rajat Brahma Rathotsava of Sri Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy, along with Sri Valli Devasena, in Subrahmanyapur, South Taluk, Bengaluru, was held from 12.15 pm to 12.45 pm, in accordance with Vedic rituals on Wednesday.

Several daily festival programmes are planned on this occasion.

On Wednesday at 10 am, a prayer to the main deity, Ganapati Puja, Rudrabhishek, Swasti Punyahavachana, Nandi, Mahasankalpa Acharyaadi Maggarana, evening entry into the Yagashala, offering before devotees, hoisting of flag, installation of the Bheritadan Kalatasthapapan, Vastu Homa, Rathofahoma, Sheshavahanotsava, and Mahamangalaarti are planned.

On 22 January (Thursday), Rudrabhishek, Nitya Homa, Prakarotsava Mahamangalarati, Night Nitya Homa, Tarakasura Samharotsava, and Mayuravaanotsava Mahamangalarati will be held.

On 23 January (Friday), a Rudrabhishek, Nitya Homa, Prakarotsava, Mahamangalarati evening Nitya Homa, Kalyanotsava, cultural programme, and bhajan by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Sanstha (Bangalore South) will be held from 5 pm to 6-30 pm.

A musical programme by ‘Swaralayamrutha’ team from 8 pm to 8.30 pm will be staged, after which the Mahamangalarati will be performed.

On 24 January, (Saturday) Rudrabhishek, Nitya Homa, Navagraha Puja in the auspicious Abhijit Muhurta from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm shall be held, followed by Sri Swami’s Rajat Brahmarathotsava, the nightly Nitya Homa, a Tantyutsava and then the Mahamangalarati.

25 January (Sunday) will begin with a Rudrabhishek, Nitya Homa, Poornahuti, Kalashodvasana Churnotsava, Avakrita Tirthotsada, Vasanthamadhav Puja, Dhwajavarohana, Mahamangalaarthi, a nightly Pushpamantapa and Ayanotsava followed by a cultural programme from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Bhajans will be rendered by Sri Radhakrishna and Vrinda of Sri Sai Spiritual Centre, Thyagarajanagar, Bengaluru, followed by the Mahamangalarati.

The family members of Sri Yaralam Subbaiah Shresthi, the founder of the temple, namely, Yadalam G. Sriram Shresthi and brothers, Yadalam G. Ram Kumar and brothers and Yadala A. Subrahmanyam Shresthi and brothers are the organizers of the event.

Food for devotees has been arranged at the shrine on the occasion.
