Extra coaches permanently added in Amaravati, Kondaveedu Express trains

Bengaluru: South Central Railway has decided to permanently augment the coach composition of its Kondaveedu Express and Amaravati Express trains in a bid to enhance passenger capacity and cater to the growing demand.

The augmentation will come into effect later this month.

Train No. 17211/17212 Machilipatnam–Yesvantpur–Machilipatnam Kondaveedu Tri-weekly Express will be augmented with one additional AC Three Tier coach, effective from May 23, 2025 from Machilipatnam and May 24, 2025 from Yesvantpur.

With this, the total number of coaches will increase from 21 to 22 coaches.

Train No. 17225/17226 Narasapur–SSS Hubballi–Narasapur Amaravati Daily Express will be augmented with two additional AC Three Tier coaches and one Sleeper Class coach, effective from May 29, 2025 from Narasapur and May 30, 2025 from Hubballi.

With this, the train’s composition will increase from 19 to 22 coaches.

Extension of services

East Coast Railway has also notified the continuation of the running of Train Nos. 08581/08582 Visakhapatnam–SMVT Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam Weekly Special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers. These trains will continue to operate with their existing stoppages and timings.

Train No. 08581 Visakhapatnam–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Special, earlier notified to run up to 25.05.2025, will now be extended to run from 01.06.2025 to 29.06.2025.

Its pairing train, Train No. 08582 SMVT Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam Weekly Special, earlier notified to run up to 26.05.2025, will now be extended to run from 02.06.2025 to 30.06.2025. Both trains will run a total of five trips each during the extended period, an official release has said.
