Bengaluru: Bengaluru emerged as a global hub of yoga excellence on International Yoga Day as Akshar Yoga Kendraa created history by achieving 21 Guinness World Records in a single day, marking one of the largest and most ambitious yoga accomplishments witnessed worldwide.
Led by renowned yoga master and spiritual leader Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, the landmark event brought together more than 10,000 participants from over 100 countries, turning the city into a vibrant global stage for discipline, endurance, wellness and collective consciousness.
Participants from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Cyprus joined the historic celebration. More than 7,000 participants successfully completed Tratak Meditation, following which selected participants went on to perform a series of yoga asanas that resulted in 20 additional Guinness World Records.
The event witnessed participation from a diverse cross-section of society, including personnel from the BSF, CISF, CRPF, Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Karnataka State Police, NCC cadets, specially-abled individuals, children from orphanages, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, students and yoga practitioners from across the world.
The record attempts involved a carefully curated sequence of foundational and advanced yogic postures. Participants held each asana with precision for durations ranging from 30 seconds to 120 seconds, demonstrating remarkable physical strength, mental resilience, concentration and synchronised execution.
The achievement followed months of rigorous preparation and training through Akshar Yoga Kendraa’s global network.
Speaking on the occasion, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar said: “Today is not merely about setting records; it is about awakening human potential. Every Guinness World Record achieved here stands as a reminder that extraordinary accomplishments are possible when individuals commit themselves to a higher purpose. Yoga teaches us that true success comes from discipline, awareness and inner mastery.”
“Through this historic movement, we celebrate India’s timeless wisdom while inspiring millions across the world to lead healthier, more conscious lives,” he added.
The achievement is being seen as a major milestone for India’s spiritual and wellness heritage, reinforcing the country’s leadership in taking yoga to the global stage. It also aligns with the United Nations International Day of Yoga 2026 theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, underlining yoga’s growing relevance in preventive healthcare, mental well-being and healthy living across generations.
Recognised as an Accreditation Body under the Yoga Institution category by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Akshar Yoga Kendraa has been at the forefront of making authentic yogic knowledge accessible to people across cultures and communities.
Over the years, the institution has impacted more than 20 million practitioners in over 100 countries and built a network of more than 50,000 certified yoga teachers. It has also collaborated with leading corporations, educational institutions, diplomatic missions and elite forces, including Infosys, Wipro, Rolls-Royce, Amazon and several government organisations.
Beyond the numbers and records, the event highlighted yoga’s enduring ability to unite people beyond borders, professions, cultures and generations. The 21 Guinness World Records stand as a powerful symbol of how India’s ancient yogic science continues to inspire modern society in its search for physical health, mental resilience and holistic well-being.
With this historic achievement, Akshar Yoga Kendraa has not only set new global benchmarks but has also elevated India’s yogic legacy to unprecedented heights, reaffirming its commitment to making yoga a universal force for health, harmony and higher consciousness.
