Where there is a willow, there is a Railway celebration…

Bengaluru: The 68th All India Railway Cricket Championship for Men (Knockout Stage) concluded on Friday at the South Western Railway (SWR) headquarters in Hubballi, with Northern Railway emerging as the champions after a thrilling final match against South East Central Railway.

In an electrifying final match, South East Central Railway set a competitive target of 256 runs.

Northern Railway, in a display of resilience and skill, successfully chased the target, securing victory with just one ball and one wicket remaining.

The championship trophy was presented to the victorious Northern Railway team by Mukul Saran Mathur, General Manager, South Western Railway.

Adding to the excitement of the tournament, the host team, South Western Railway, secured the second runner-up position after defeating Eastern Railway by three wickets in a hard-fought match on Thursday.

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Ishaq Khan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer and Aseem Kumar CEE and Vice President of the SWR Sports Association, and G. G. Pramila, OSD Sports.

Mukul Saran Mathur congratulated all participating teams for their exemplary performances and reiterated the significance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among railway employees, a release signed by Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway, Hubballi, has said.
