University Living and FlashAid launch first-ever post-study safety net for international students

New Delhi: University Living, a leading global student housing marketplace, has partnered with FlashAid to launch “Uni Extended Stay”, a first-of-its-kind financial safety net designed to support international students in the United Kingdom during their transition from university to employment, an official release has said.

Under this initiative, eligible students can receive up to £2,400(INR 2,68,000*) in rental reimbursement over six months, ensuring housing stability as they embark on their careers.

The initiative is now live, and students who have graduated with a minimum 70 percent academic score and are unemployed at the time of claiming benefits can apply.

“Uni Extended Stay” provides 50 percent rental coverage for the first three months (capped at £300 per month) and 80 percent for the next three months (capped at £500 per month), with a seamless claims process managed through FlashAid.

In addition, ‘Uni Extended stay’ will provide a comprehensive solution with coverage of up to Rs 2 lakh, free flight tickets to India, including dental, additional medical services worth *£400 in India, the release claims.

It also includes 24×7 tele-consultation and mental well-being support, ensuring students have access to essential healthcare when needed.

Saurabh Arora, Founder and CEO, University Living, commented on the partnership thus: “At University Living, we understand that the transition from university to a professional career can be both exciting and uncertain for international students. Many students face financial stress while job hunting, making stable housing a top priority. Through UL – Uni Extended Stay, we are bridging this crucial gap by providing structured rental assistance, ensuring students have a secure place to stay as they focus on their career aspirations. Our collaboration with FlashAid reinforces our mission to support students beyond university, empowering them to take the next step in their journey with confidence. By reducing financial stress, this initiative also enhances students’ overall well-being, mental health, and career readiness — ensuring they can transition into their professional lives with greater stability and confidence.”

Students can claim benefits through FlashAid’s digital reimbursement portal: https://www.universityliving.com/UES ensuring a hassle-free experience. The company release claims.

Required documents include a university-issued certificate confirming unemployment, registration with job placement agencies, and evidence of job-seeking efforts, such as application records and interview outcomes.

However, the plan does not include unemployment due to visa issues, legal violations, or voluntary resignation.

Manoj Gupta, Founder and CEO, FlashAid said: “Securing a job and stable housing after graduation is a challenge for many international students, and financial uncertainty can make this transition even more stressful. At FlashAid, our goal is to provide a safety net that enables students to focus on their aspirations rather than worrying about rent or healthcare costs. Our partnership with University Living ensures that students have the right support when they need it most, helping them confidently step into their professional lives. By easing financial burdens, we are strengthening student well-being and ensuring they have every opportunity to succeed.”

Looking ahead, University Living and FlashAid plan to expand UL – Uni Extended Stay beyond the UK, tailoring the initiative to students in other study destinations.
