This November, AIAMA Expo 2025 to give the world a ‘sense of incense’

Bengaluru: In a historic move to elevate India’s traditional incense industry to a global stage, the All India Agarbathi Manufacturing Association (AIAMA) has announced the AIAMA EXPO 2025, the largest international agarbathi conference and exhibition ever held in India.

The three-day mega event, themed ‘Traditionally Modern’, will be held from November 6 to 8, 2025 at Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru.

The expo aims to strengthen India’s leadership in the ₹8,000-crore domestic agarbathi market and boost the already growing ₹1,000-crore export sector.

With incense sticks being an integral part of Indian culture and spirituality, the country now eyes the global incense throne through a mix of heritage celebration and forward-thinking innovation.

Bridging tradition and opportunity

Speaking at the announcement, Arjun Ranga, Chairperson of AIAMA EXPO 2025 and Managing Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathis, said: “India’s agarbathi industry has grown into an ₹8,000-crore powerhouse, with demand surging not only in the domestic market but across international borders. The AIAMA EXPO 2025 will be a platform for the entire value chain — from rural artisans to global buyers — to collaborate, learn, and explore the future of fragrant possibilities.”

The expo will feature the introduction of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, a first-of-its-kind move to set benchmarks in product quality, helping Indian manufacturers align with international standards.

A platform for progress

Spread over 1.2 lakh sq. ft., the expo is expected to welcome 5,000-plus delegates, including exporters, perfumers, fragrance technologists, raw material suppliers, packaging innovators, and policy makers. Notable highlights include:

  • Curated seminars on job creation, women’s empowerment, innovation in packaging, fragrance Research and Development, and export potential
  • Heritage Zone showcasing rare agarbathi samples, historic artefacts, and the evolution of incense culture
  • Global participation from exhibitors in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Europe
  • Sustainability and Skilling Dialogues aimed at rural uplift and eco-conscious production

Aromas of empowerment and enterprise

Ambica Ramanjaneyulu, President of AIAMA and Director of Ambica Agarbathies Aroma and Industries, added: “The agarbathi industry supports lakhs of families, especially women in rural India. Through the expo, we’re fostering inclusive growth, upskilling stakeholders, and promoting responsible manufacturing. Our vision is to build India as not just the largest producer — but the most respected incense brand in the world.”

Supported by industry bodies such as the Fragrance and Flavours Association of India (FAFAI), Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) Kannauj, and the Essential Oils Association of India (EOAI), the expo also aims to forge new global partnerships and facilitate investment in India’s incense future.

A turning point

AIAMA EXPO 2025 is set to be a turning point for the agarbathi sector —transforming it from a cultural commodity to a global aromatic powerhouse, with Bengaluru as its fragrant epicentre.
