TCS World 10K: Bengaluru turns ‘Run-Bhoomi’, producing enthusiasts like never before

Bengaluru: The 18th edition of the TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2026 drew an impressive 36,000 participants, combining mass enthusiasm with world-class elite performances in one of India’s premier road races.

Burundi’s Rodrigue Kwizera delivered a statement performance, clinching the men’s title in a new event record of 27:31. Avenging his narrow loss from three years ago, Kwizera surged ahead after the 8 km mark and maintained control to finish ahead of Uganda’s Harbert Kibet (27:39) and Kenya’s Gilbert Kipkosgei Kiprotich (27:43).

In the women’s race, Rwanda’s Florence Niyonkuru emerged as the surprise star, winning her maiden 10K title in 30:45. She held off strong competition from Kenya’s Brenda Jepchirchir (30:59) and Ethiopia’s Chaltu Dida Diriba (31:03) to seal a memorable victory.

Indian runners also delivered standout performances, with Harmanjot Singh clocking 29:13 to finish as the fastest Indian, missing the event record by just a second.

In the women’s field, Sanjivani Jadhav continued her dominance, securing a third consecutive title with a time of 35:01.

The race also saw strong depth across categories, with emerging athletes making their mark and close finishes highlighting the growing competitiveness of Indian distance running.

With elite excellence and mass participation coming together, the event once again reinforced its reputation as a global running spectacle.
