Now, Trichy experiences the ‘Bengaluru effect’ — at its airport

Tiruchirappalli: Bangalore Airport Services Limited (BASL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), has announced the opening of O’Vetra, a new lounge at Tiruchirappalli International Airport.

Designed to offer a refined blend of comfort, culture, and convenience, O’Vetra is set to elevate passenger experience at Tiruchirappalli Airport, transforming the way travellers relax, dine, and recharge before their journey.

Built on the award-winning service excellence associated with the 080 lounges at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, the new lounge re-imagines airport hospitality with elegant details and a warm, welcoming ambiance.

Rooted in the cultural fabric of Tiruchirappalli, the lounge reflects the city’s identity through design elements drawn from local art, architecture, and materials.

A Kolam-inspired reception wall welcomes guests with warmth and tradition. Soft blue flooring mirrors the flow of the Kaveri River, while handcrafted cane and bamboo chitai detailing adorns the ceiling.

Terracotta textures and a calming beige palette pay homage to the Rock Fort Temple, blending local heritage with global appeal.

Spanning 450 square metres in the domestic terminal and 620 square metres in the international terminal, O’Vetra is designed to prioritise comfort, accessibility, and intuitive service.

The lounges accommodate 107 guests in the domestic section and 150 in the international, with seating layouts tailored for both individual travellers and small groups.

From elevated culinary offerings to inclusive, traveller-centric design, O’Vetra offers guests live culinary stations, buffet spreads, and dedicated bar areas that blend regional familiarity with global inspiration.

The rotating menu, crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients caters to diverse dietary preferences across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hi-tea, ensuring both variety and quality.

The lounges are also fully equipped with PRM-compliant restrooms, ensuring inclusivity and ease of access for all passengers including those with reduced mobility.

For international travellers in transit, shower facilities offer added comfort. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout, enabling guests to stay connected, work, or unwind with ease.

Passengers at Tiruchirappalli International Airport can enhance their airport experience by availing the ‘Meet and Greet’ and porter service offered by BASL.
