Bengaluru: South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the introduction of new daily Express train services between Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Junction and Kushtagi, aimed at enhancing rail connectivity in North Karnataka.
With the inauguration of the new Gadag-Kushtagi railway line, Train No. 07353 Kushtagi-SSS Hubballi Inaugural Special Express (one-way) was flagged off by Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna from Kushtagi Railway Station on Wednesday.
This inaugural special consisted of two SLR/D coaches and six General Second Class/Sleeper Class coaches.
The inaugural special train ran from Kushtagi to SSS Hubballi, and en route stopped at Linganabandi, Hanamapur, Yelburga, Sanganal, Kukanur, Talakal, Bannikoppa, Sompur Road, Halligudi Halt, Harlapur, Kanginhal, Gadag, Hulkoti, Annigeri, Sisvinhalli, Hebsur and Kusugal.
The regular services
Train No. 17327 SSS Hubballi–Kushtagi Daily Express will depart from SSS Hubballi at 5 pm and arrive at Kushtagi at 8:40 pm the same day.
En route, the train will arrive/depart at Kusugal at 05:14/05:15 pm, Hebsur at 05:24/05:25 pm, Sisvinhalli at 05:28/05:29 pm, Annigeri at 05:45/05:46 pm, Hulkoti at 05:54/05:55 pm, Gadag at 06:10/06:12 pm, Kanginhal at 06:19/06:20 pm, Harlapur at 06:27/06:28pm, Halligudi Halt at 06:31/06:32 pm, Sompur Road at 06:35/06:36 pm, BanniKoppa at 06:43/06:44 pm, Talakal at 06:50/07:00 pm, Kukanur at 07:12/07:13 pm, Sanganal at 07:23/07:24, Yelburga at 07:33/07:34 pm, Hanamapur at 07:42/07:43 pm and Linganabandi at 07:56/07:57 pm.
Train No. 17328 Kushtagi–SSS Hubballi Daily Express will depart from Kushtagi at 07:00 am and arrive at SSS Hubballi at 10:40 am the same day.
En route, the train will arrive/depart at Linganabandi at 07:10/07:11am, Hanamapur at 07:21/07:22am, Yelburga at 07:29/07:30 am, Sanganal at 07:38/07:39 am, Kukanur at 07:49/07:50 am, Talakal at 08:10/08:20 am, BanniKoppa at 08:25/08:26 am, Sompur Road at 08:33/08:34 am, Halligudi Halt at 08:36/08:37 am, Harlapur at 08:40/08:41 am, Kanginhal at 08:48/08:49 am, Gadag at 09:08/09:10 am, Hulkoti at 09:24/09:25 am, Annigeri at 09:33/09:34 am, Sisvinhalli at 09:37/09:38 am, Hebsur at 09:41/09:42am and Kusugal at 09:49/09:50 am.
The trains will comprise 11 coaches — 9 General Second Class and 2 Second class Luggage-cum-Guard Brake vans and Divyangjan coaches.
This new daily service is expected to provide a major boost to regional connectivity, benefiting daily commuters, students, traders, and the general public by facilitating faster and more convenient travel between key towns in North Karnataka, an official release from SWR has said.
