New and ‘affordable AI Mentor’ — by Pearson India and Infinity Learn — to guide NEET-JEE aspirants

Bengaluru: As competition for India’s toughest entrance examinations continues to intensify, education major Pearson India and ed-tech platform Infinity Learn have joined hands to introduce an AI-powered Competitive Exam Test Series aimed at helping students prepare more effectively for engineering and medical entrance tests.

The initiative, announced in Bengaluru on Thursday, combines Pearson’s academic content expertise with Infinity Learn’s artificial intelligence–based learning tools to provide a structured and personalised preparation ecosystem for aspirants of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Smart preparation for intense competition

The first offering under the collaboration is JEE Main.AI 2026, a comprehensive test-preparation programme designed for students preparing for one of the world’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations.

Every year, more than 1.3 million students appear for JEE Main, competing for limited seats in premier engineering institutes such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).

The newly launched programme aims to recreate real exam conditions and help students develop the speed, accuracy and confidence required to succeed in such highly competitive tests.

Available round the clock

At the centre of the platform is AINA, a voice-first AI mentor designed to assist students anytime during their preparation.

According to the organisers, the AI mentor provides:

• Step-by-step explanations to complex problems
• Instant clarification of doubts,
• Personalised feedback based on a student’s performance,
• Suggestions to improve strategies and close learning gaps

The system analyses a learner’s past test performance and identifies recurring mistakes, guiding them towards relevant explanations, examples or videos before encouraging them to attempt the question again.

Education experts at the launch explained that this “scaffolding” learning approach helps students gradually build understanding rather than simply providing answers.

The JEE Main.AI 2026 programme includes 20 paper-based mock tests and 10 computer-based tests (CBTs) that closely replicate the actual examination format.

Each book in the series carries a unique activation code that unlocks digital resources on the Infinity Learn platform, including:

• Concept explanation videos
• Quick-revision flashcards
• Detailed performance analytics
• AI-enabled doubt-solving support

The mock tests are designed to familiarise students with the 180-minute exam environment, helping them manage time and pressure effectively during the real test.

Developers of the programme said the initiative also focuses on affordability.

The full preparation package is available through a one-year subscription priced below ₹1,000, making it accessible to a wide range of students preparing for competitive exams.

Speaking at the launch, Sushma Boppana, CEO and Director of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions and Founder of Infinity Learn, said technology has become a powerful enabler in exam preparation.

Education leaders at the press interaction also highlighted how AI can support students when teachers or mentors are not available — particularly during late-night study hours when many aspirants revise and practise problems.

Rather than simply delivering answers, AI systems can guide students through step-by-step reasoning, helping them understand concepts and apply them independently.

Experts emphasised that while technology will transform learning methods, teachers will continue to play a critical role as mentors and facilitators, working alongside digital tools to improve learning outcomes.
