Bengaluru: Infineon Technologies, a global leader in power systems and IoT, is deepening its roots in India’s semiconductor ecosystem with the announcement of a new, cutting-edge facility at Bagmane Solarium Tech Park in Bengaluru.
The new campus — named “SILANE” — will consolidate Infineon’s two existing Bengaluru sites into a single, unified hub designed to accelerate innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
Spanning an impressive 630,000 square feet, the SILANE campus will serve as a home for up to 4,500 employees by 2030, nearly doubling Infineon’s current workforce in India.
The facility will feature 170,000 square feet of advanced laboratories, fostering the development of next-generation semiconductor solutions that enable decarbonization and digitalization — two key pillars of Infineon’s global mission.
Construction has already begun, with completion and full operations expected by the autumn of 2026.
“India’s dynamic ecosystem and growing talent pool offer unparalleled opportunities for technological advancement and business growth,” said Vinay Shenoy, Managing Director, Infineon India.
“By expanding our R&D footprint, we’re investing in India’s innovation potential. Our new campus in Bengaluru lays the foundation for the next phase of Infineon’s growth story — one that’s both sustainable and future-ready,” he added.
Hub for collaboration, growth
The SILANE campus is envisioned as more than just an office space — it’s a centre for innovation and collaboration, bringing together engineers, researchers, and partners to shape the future of semiconductor technology.
“The cutting-edge facility we are leasing will accommodate our growing workforce, encourage collaboration, and provide an inspiring environment for our talents, customers, partners, and start-ups,” said Ashok Rao, Senior Director for Finance at Infineon India.
“This move comes five years after Infineon’s acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor and aligns perfectly with our strategy to unify operations and create a cohesive innovation ecosystem in India,” he added.
In keeping with Infineon’s commitment to sustainability, the SILANE campus will be entirely powered by green energy.
The building is designed to meet globally recognized standards, including LEED Gold and WELL certifications, ensuring energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and employee well-being.
India: A strategic pillar in Infineon’s global vision
The establishment of the new campus underscores India’s growing importance in Infineon’s global strategy. With Bengaluru serving as a major R&D hub, Infineon aims to drive innovations that contribute to smarter, cleaner, and more connected technologies across industries.
By 2030, Infineon expects its India operations to play a pivotal role in powering the global semiconductor industry’s transformation — reinforcing India’s position as a key player in the world’s digital and sustainable future.
