Indian Railways offers special trains between Bengaluru and ‘World Yoga Capital’ Rishikesh

Hubbali: In view of increased passenger demand, the Railway Board has approved operation of Train Nos. 06597/06598 Yesvantpur–Yog Nagari Rishikesh–Yesvantpur Express Special, an official release has said.  

This initiative aims to clear the extra rush and enhance long-distance connectivity between South and North India.

Train No. 06597 Yesvantpur–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express Special will depart from Yesvantpur on Thursdays at 07:00 am on 19.06.2025, 26.06.2025 and 03.07.2025 and will reach Yog Nagari Rishikesh at 10:20 am on Saturday.

In the return direction, Train No. 06598 Yog Nagari Rishikesh–Yesvantpur Express Special will depart from Yog Nagari Rishikesh at 17:55 hrs on Saturdays  on 21.06.2025, 28.06.2025 and 05.07.2025 and arrive Yesvantpur at 19:45 hrs on Monday.

En route, the train will stop at Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Dhone, Kurnool City, Kacheguda, Kazipet, Balharshah, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Railway Station, Gwalior, Agra Cantt, Mathura, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Tapri, Roorkee and Haridwar Junction in both directions.

These special trains will consist of 18 coaches, including: 1 AC first-cum-AC two tier coach, 1 AC Two Tier coach, 3 AC Three Tier coaches, 7 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 General Second Class coaches, and 2 SLR/D coaches.

This service connects major cities and marks the first direct rail connectivity between Bengaluru area and Uttarakhand, benefiting passengers across multiple states.

Yog Nagari Rishikesh, located in the foothills of the Himalayas along the banks of the Ganga, is globally acclaimed as a spiritual and wellness destination. Known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, the city attracts pilgrims, spiritual seekers, and tourists from around the globe.

It also serves as a major gateway to the Char Dham pilgrimage in Uttarakhand.
