Ghar Ja, SIM SIM: Airtel, Blinkit team up to deliver SIM cards to your doorsteps in 10 minutes

Bengaluru: In a game-changing move that redefines customer convenience, Bharti Airtel has partnered with Blinkit, the leading quick commerce platform, to deliver SIM cards to customers’ homes in Bengaluru within just 10 minutes.

This first-of-its-kind initiative by a telecom provider in India is aimed at commitment to innovation and customer-centricity.

Through this unique collaboration, customers in Bengaluru can now receive their new Airtel SIM cards at their doorstep with lightning speed — paying just a nominal convenience fee of ₹49.

Once the SIM is delivered, users can activate it easily via a secure Aadhaar-based self-KYC process, right from the comfort of their homes.

The service supports both prepaid and postpaid plans and also allows users to port their existing numbers to the Airtel network using the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) option.

The process has been designed for maximum ease, with customers receiving a link to an instructional video that guides them through activation.

For support, existing Airtel customers can reach out via the Airtel Thanks App, while new users can call 9810012345 for assistance.

To ensure a smooth transition, SIM cards must be activated within 15 days of delivery.

“This partnership with Blinkit is a step forward in our journey to simplify lives through technology,” said Siddharth Sharma, CEO – Connected Homes and Director of Marketing, Bharti Airtel.

“We are thrilled to enable 10-minute SIM deliveries across 16 cities today, and we plan to expand this service to many more towns and cities in the coming months.”

Albinder Dhindsa, Founder and CEO of Blinkit, echoed the sentiment, stating, “We’re excited to join hands with Airtel to make mobile connectivity as quick and seamless as ordering groceries. While Blinkit ensures ultra-fast delivery, Airtel provides a smooth digital onboarding experience with self-KYC and instant activation.”

The service is currently live in 16 major Indian cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Bhopal, Indore, and Surat.
