Bengaluru: Canara Bank recently organized a Financial Inclusion Saturation Camp at Kodigehalli Gram Panchayat, Doddaballapura Block, Bengaluru Rural District, Karnataka, as part of its ongoing PM JanSuraksha Saturation campaign underway from July 1 to September 30, 2025.
The camp saw enthusiastic participation from over 700 customers, representing nine neighbouring villages, an official bank statement said.
The event was graced by K. Satyanarayana Raju, MD and CEO of Canara Bank, Sonali Sengupta, Regional Director, RBI, Bengaluru, Arun Kumar, AGM of RBI, and Syeeda Iisha, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Rural District among others.
Speaking at the event, Sonali Sengupta emphasized the importance of completing Re-KYC formalities and registering for government social security schemes.
She urged all participants to be aware of cyber fraud and advised customers to update their KYC information and reactivate dormant accounts.
Satyanarayana Raju elaborated on flagship financial inclusion schemes such as PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY, emphasizing the need for active public participation to achieve financial saturation targets.
He also illustrated how citizens had benefited from these schemes during difficult times by paying a nominal premium of just ₹436 (PMJJBY) or ₹20 (PMSBY).
He further sensitized customers about money mule accounts and requested all customers to be cautious about cyber fraud.
As part of the camp, dedicated enrolment counters were set up for PMSBY and PMJJBY, and live, on-the-spot Re-KYC facilities were also provided to customers.
At the event, cheques were handed over to eight beneficiaries of PMSBY and PMJJBY schemes from Avathi, Doddaballapura, and Kodigehalli branches of Canara Bank.
Beneficiaries shared their personal experiences, narrating how these schemes had provided critical financial support during times of adversity.
