Bengaluru: English football powerhouse Manchester City has partnered with JAIN Sports to launch a new Manchester City Football School at the JAIN Global Campus in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in India’s evolving football and sports education landscape.
The collaboration brings Manchester City’s globally recognised football education programme into JAIN Sports’ high-performance ecosystem, combining elite coaching expertise with academic excellence, cutting-edge infrastructure and holistic student-athlete development.
The launch represents the first major step in JAIN Sports’ long-term vision to build a sustainable and inclusive sports ecosystem in India.
Designed to nurture young talent both on and off the pitch, the Football School will offer students access to Manchester City’s proven training methodologies, which have underpinned the club’s success across English, European and global competitions.
The programme will focus on technical development, tactical understanding, teamwork, leadership and maintaining a strong balance between sport and education.
Jorgina Busquets, Managing Director – Football Education, Recreation and Partner Clubs at City Football Group, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to youth development through sport.
“We are pleased to partner with JAIN Sports to bring Manchester City’s football education approach to more young players in India. By combining our coaching expertise with JAIN’s focus on holistic student-athlete development, we aim to deliver a high-quality programme that supports both athletic progression and personal growth,” she said.
JAIN Sports, a flagship initiative of The JGI Group, is backed by a 30-year legacy in sports education and athlete development. With a proven track record of producing Olympians, Paralympians and international athletes, the institution is focused on creating one of India’s most comprehensive sports ecosystems.
Built on three core pillars — a high-performance academy, end-to-end talent management and the JAIN Foundation for access and inclusion — JAIN Sports operates under a long-term Vision 2036, supported by a structured, data-driven Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
The model enables athlete progression from grassroots participation to elite and professional performance.
Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Chairman, JGI Group, described the partnership as a defining moment for Indian sports education. “Partnering with Manchester City marks a major milestone in our journey to build India’s most holistic sports ecosystem. Their globally renowned youth development pathways and coaching philosophy align seamlessly with our mission to nurture champions on and off the field,” he said.
The launch of the Manchester City Football School strengthens JAIN Sports’ position as a leader in sports education and provides young footballers in India with a rare opportunity to train within a professional, globally benchmarked football environment — setting new standards for youth development in the country.
