South Western Railway (SWR) has made extensive arrangements to ensure comfortable travel for passengers during the ongoing Holi festival rush, an official release has said.
To manage the surge in traffic, SWR is operating 56 Holi Special trains comprising 856 trips across various Railway zones and within its intra-railway network during the Holi period from March 1, 2026 to March 31, 2026.
Of these, SWR is operating 28 Holi specials with 130 trips and 28 Intra-Railway specials on demand with 726 trips.
Thus, a total of 56 special trains with 856 trips are being operated during the period. In addition, 14 other Railway Holi Special trains on demand comprising 134 trips are being operated in coordination with other Railway zones.
The Holi specials connect several important destinations across the country such as Madar, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram North, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Dhanbad, Yog Nagari Rishikesh, Malda Town, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Muzaffarpur, Danapur and Jodhpur, among others.
The Intra-Railway Special services cover major station pairs such as Hubballi–Vijayapura, Yesvantpur–Hindupur, KSR Bengaluru City–Ashokapuram, Bangarapet Junction–SMVT Bengaluru, Bengaluru Cantonment–Chikballapur, KSR Bengaluru City Junction–Hassan, Yesvantpur Junction–Hosur, Hosapete–SSS Hubballi Junction, and Ballari–Davangere, among other key stations.
