Bengaluru: In a release, the Bengaluru Apartments Federation (BAF) has asked its members to adopt certain guidelines while renting out their flats to foreign nationals.

Quoting an advisory from the Bengaluru City Police, the release says that the police have re-emphasized an important guideline for house owners, PGs (Paying Guests), hotels and owners of apartment communities when renting out their premises to foreign nationals.

Following are the guidelines and points for compliance:

  1. Owners must submit C-Form to FRRO/FRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office/Foreigners Registration Office) whenever a foreign national is accommodated.
  2. Keep copies of passport and visa of the tenant for records and share a copy with the Apartment Management Committee.
  3. Inform the local police of the tenant before renting out the premises.
  4. Do not allow stay without a valid visa/permit.
  5. Ensure a registered rental agreement is executed and renewed from time to time.
  6. Report suspicious activities immediately to the police by dialling 112.

For FRRO C-Form Submission Portal, access https://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/FormC   (login registration required)

The release asks all MCs (Management Committees) to sensitize owners, tenants and facility/security teams about these requirements to avoid legal complications and to ensure overall community safety.
