Bengaluru: To position Karnataka as a global leader in “quantum innovation”, Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technological Development N.S. Boseraju has directed officials to begin preparations for the country’s first-ever “Quantum Conference”, scheduled for the end of July 2025.
Chairing a meeting with senior officials from the Department of Science and Technology, the Minister reviewed the ongoing groundwork and emphasized the importance of a well-structured and impactful event.
“Quantum technology is rapidly transforming multiple sectors and holds tremendous promise for innovation and progress,” Minister Bhosaraju noted.
He added that the Karnataka government was actively supporting the Quantum Research Park at IISc Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to building an ecosystem that fosters breakthroughs in this cutting-edge domain.
The upcoming two-day Quantum Conference will serve as a platform for global knowledge exchange and collaboration. Invitations have been extended to several countries recognized for their achievements in the quantum space.
The event aims to facilitate strategic engagement and inspire Karnataka’s quantum ambitions.
The Minister stated, “We are organizing this historic conference not only to accelerate industrial growth but also to drive societal benefit through emerging technologies. Our goal is to fully harness the immense opportunities presented by the quantum revolution.”
The preparatory meeting was attended by Ekroop Kaur, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Sadashiva Prabhu, Managing Director, Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society, and other senior officials from the department.
