Bengaluru: In a significant milestone for the global renewable energy sector, KK Wind Solutions, a EUR 1 billion company owned by A.P. Moller Holding, has inaugurated its largest manufacturing facility in Asia, located in Dobbaspet, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

This expansion underscores the company’s long-term commitment to India and aligns with the country’s ambitious clean energy goals.

The new 17,000 m² factory and a larger Bengaluru city office mark a bold step in KK Wind Solutions’ international growth strategy. With 400 new jobs expected at the factory and 150 professionals joining the city office’s global shared services, the expansion reflects both business confidence and the deepening of Indo-Danish green energy collaboration.

“India is an increasingly important hub in the global wind energy value chain, and Bengaluru was the clear choice for our expansion,” said Mauricio Quintana, CEO of KK Wind Solutions.

“With its engineering talent, strong academic ecosystem, and strategic location, this city offers everything we need to serve our global customers more effectively and sustainably,” he added.

A hub for renewable innovation

Production at the Dobbaspet factory began in April 2025, and the site is already a critical part of KK Wind Solutions’ global supply chain. It will manufacture state-of-the-art converters and control systems for the wind industry — core components that enable efficient, reliable power generation from wind turbines.

The factory also stands as a model for sustainable industrial development. The site features solar panels on the roof, EV charging infrastructure, and was built with environmental best practices at the forefront.

Fully licensed under the Government of India’s MOOWR Scheme, the factory is geared for both domestic operations and export.

“Together with our partners in India, we are engineering solutions for a renewable future,” added Quintana. “This expansion is not just about scaling our business — it’s about contributing to India’s energy transition, transferring know-how, and creating green jobs.”

A stronger India-Denmark partnership

The inauguration takes place amid growing cooperation under the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark, aimed at accelerating innovation, clean technology trade, and climate resilience.

“KK Wind Solutions’ investment in Bengaluru is a powerful symbol of the Denmark-India green partnership in action,” said Eske Bo Rosenberg, Consul General of Denmark in Bengaluru.

“India’s green transition requires both ambition and collaboration, and we’re proud that Danish companies like KK Wind Solutions are helping to power this movement,” he added

Growing with purpose

KK Wind Solutions has had a presence in Bengaluru since 2017, previously operating an 11,000 m² facility. The new 24,000 m² campus, including 7,000 m² of landscaped green space, reflects the company’s rapid growth and the increasing global demand for renewable energy solutions.

The expansion brings together manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and global support services under one ecosystem, helping the company deliver faster, smarter, and more sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
