Bengaluru firm partners with global behemoth to power AI rollout in insurance sector

Bengaluru: In a landmark development for India’s deep-tech landscape, Bengaluru-based CamCom Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with ERGO Group AG, one of Europe’s top insurance powerhouses, to globally deploy an AI-driven visual inspection solution across the insurance value chain.

This collaboration positions CamCom as the primary technology partner for ERGO’s next-generation, AI-powered inspection platform, already live in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, with phased rollouts planned across other European markets.

The alliance not only underlines CamCom’s rapid international expansion but also spotlights India’s emerging role in enterprise-ready AI innovation.

At the core of the partnership lies CamCom’s proprietary Large Vision Model (LVM) — the world’s first domain-specific AI engine dedicated to surface defect and damage detection.

Trained on more than 450 million customer-validated images, the LVM enables precise, smartphone-based image capture for pre-inspection and damage assessment of vehicles and properties.

This significantly enhances transparency, reduces manual subjectivity, and streamlines claim processing for insurers and policyholders alike.

“We are proud to be ERGO’s trusted technology partner,” said Geetha Sham, Director and President – Europe, CamCom Technologies.

“This marks a major milestone in our global journey and reflects our commitment to building scalable, high-performance AI platforms tailored to the insurance industry,” she adds.

Mark Klein, Chief Digital Officer and Member of the Board at ERGO Group AG, added, “CamCom’s solution is not only innovative, but also practical and scalable — exactly what we need to transform customer workflows across motor and homeowners’ insurance classes. This partnership validates the robustness of their AI platform in real-world European markets.”

CamCom’s growing list of global clients includes over 15 insurance companies, with deployments across geographies adhering to stringent regulatory frameworks like GDPR in Europe and IRDAI guidelines in India.

Back home, HDFC ERGO General Insurance has already witnessed tangible benefits through its ongoing collaboration with CamCom.

“CamCom has delivered measurable gains in our automotive claims and underwriting processes,” said Parthanil Ghosh, Executive Director, HDFC ERGO.

“We are thrilled to see their technology now being adopted at scale by ERGO Group AG,” he adds.

Commenting on the global breakthrough, Ajith Nayar, CEO of CamCom Technologies, said, “This partnership reaffirms our mission to build industry-agnostic, enterprise-grade AI from India that creates real-world impact. With ERGO, we are not just expanding globally — we’re demonstrating that deep-tech made in India can lead globally.”

The partnership also aligns with ERGO’s digital transformation agenda, backed by innovation hubs like ERGO ScaleHub in Düsseldorf, and sets the stage for CamCom’s continued global expansion in automotive, insurance, logistics, and beyond.
