BEL clocks record ₹26,750 crore turnover, posts robust growth in FY26

Bengaluru: Navratna defence public sector undertaking (PSU) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has reported a record turnover of approximately ₹26,750 crore (provisional and unaudited) for the financial year 2025–26, registering a strong growth of 16.2 per cent over the previous year’s ₹23,024 crore.

The company also recorded impressive export performance, with overseas sales reaching around USD 141.9 million during the year, compared to USD 106.17 million in FY25 — marking a significant growth of 33.65 per cent.

BEL’s order inflow remained robust during the year, with fresh orders worth ₹30,000 crore, including export orders valued at USD 346 million. Key defence orders secured include avionics for Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), mountain radars, electronic warfare (EW) suites for helicopters, air defence radars, electro-optical infrared (EOIR) payloads for airborne and naval platforms, EW systems for naval applications, fire control and sighting systems for tanks, mobile communication terminals, network-centric systems, counter-unmanned aerial systems, along with upgrades, spares and services.

In the non-defence segment, BEL expanded its footprint with major orders spanning communication equipment, IT infrastructure for AIIMS, airport surveillance radars, software solutions, automatic train supervision systems and electronic voting machines (EVMs).

On the export front, the company secured key contracts for communication systems, satellite communication networks, TR modules, electronic fuses and drones.

With these additions, BEL’s total order book as of April 1, 2026, stands at an estimated ₹74,000 crore, including an export order book of USD 495 million — providing strong revenue visibility in the coming years.

Commenting on the performance, Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, said the evolving geopolitical landscape, including ongoing tensions in West Asia, had underscored the critical need for self-reliance in strategic sectors and a resilient domestic defence ecosystem.

He noted that BEL was well-positioned to navigate these challenges, backed by its technological expertise, diversified portfolio, modern manufacturing capabilities and strong execution track record. The company continues to prioritise indigenisation, reducing reliance on imports while strengthening domestic supply chains.

Looking ahead, BEL is sharpening its focus on future-ready technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced electronic warfare and communication systems, and autonomous platforms.

These strategic initiatives are expected to help the company capitalise on emerging opportunities in both domestic and global markets, reinforcing its role as a key pillar in India’s defence and technology landscape.
