A ‘championship’ to activate brain-gain through the ‘Neuro-On’ approach…

In times where the digital is all-consuming, attention spans are plummeting, and the use of the brain is turning more devious than envious, Dr. Sushant P Mysorekar, a Neuro-Strategy Analyst based in Maharashtra but with roots in Karnataka, has come up with a novel idea to get those neurons working, for optimum human benefit.

In this conversation with The Bangalore Monitor, CD Subramani tries to rack the hack he is currently working on. Here are excerpts from their interaction:

CDS: What is Brain Rhyme and what inspired its journey?

Dr SPM: Brain Rhyme is a Brain-Tech organization dedicated to enhancing cognitive intelligence, thinking skills, and human potential through neuroscience-based learning. For over 15 years, we have worked with students, educators, professionals, and institutions across multiple countries to develop innovative programmes that go beyond traditional education. Our mission is simple: to help individuals not just acquire knowledge, but learn how to think, innovate, and make better education and career decisions.

CDS: What exactly is Neurochampionship 2.0?

Dr SPM: “Neurochampionship” is a first-of-its-kind cognitive championship designed to evaluate and enhance brain performance through engaging challenges. Unlike conventional academic competitions that focus primarily on memory or subject knowledge, Neurochampionship assesses abilities such as critical thinking, creativity, decision-making, concentration, problem-solving, communication, and innovation. It celebrates the power of the human brain rather than rote learning.

CDS: Why do students need Neurochampionship in today’s world?

Dr SPM: The future belongs to individuals who can think creatively, adapt quickly, and solve complex problems. While schools build academic knowledge, students also need structured opportunities to strengthen higher-order thinking skills. Neurochampionship helps participants discover their strengths, improve cognitive abilities, and build confidence — preparing them not only for examinations but also for careers and life.

CDS: How is Neurochampionship different from traditional Olympiads?

Dr SPM: Traditional Olympiads generally measure proficiency in subjects such as Mathematics, Science, or English. Neurochampionship takes a broader approach by assessing how the brain processes information. It focuses on cognitive abilities including reasoning, attention, analytical thinking, creativity, strategic planning, emotional intelligence, memory, and decision-making. It is designed to complement academics by strengthening the skills that drive lifelong success.

CDS: What makes Brain Rhyme’s approach unique?

Dr SPM: Brain Rhyme combines neuroscience, cognitive psychology, experiential learning, and practical application to create measurable outcomes. Our proprietary frameworks — including 69 Thinking Skills and 51 Cognitive Quotients — help learners identify strengths, address developmental gaps, and improve their thinking abilities through structured activities, assessments, and guided practice. We believe that developing the mind is just as important as acquiring knowledge.

CDS: What benefits can students expect from participating in Neurochampionship?

Dr. SPM: Students gain much more than certificates or medals. They develop sharper concentration, stronger memory, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, emotional resilience, leadership, and decision-making abilities. These competencies contribute to improved academic performance while also preparing students for competitive examinations, higher education, entrepreneurship, and future careers.

CDS: How do parents and schools benefit from Neurochampionship?

Dr SPM: Parents receive valuable insights into their child’s cognitive strengths and areas for improvement, enabling more informed educational and career decisions. Schools benefit by promoting holistic development, encouraging innovation, and creating a culture that values thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. Neurochampionship also aligns with the vision of NEP , preparing students for the demands of the 21st century.

CDS: Is Neurochampionship only for academically brilliant students?

Dr SPM: Not at all. Neurochampionship is designed for every student who wants to improve. Cognitive skills can be developed through consistent practice and the right guidance. The championship provides every participant with an opportunity to discover hidden potential, regardless of academic ranking, making it an inclusive platform for personal growth.

CDS: What is Brain Rhyme’s long-term vision?

Dr SPM: Our vision is to create a generation of thinkers, innovators, and responsible global citizens. We aspire to establish cognitive development as an essential part of mainstream education by collaborating with schools, universities, governments, and industry. Through research, innovation, and technology, Brain Rhyme aims to make brain development accessible to learners across the world.

CDS: What message would you like to share with students, parents and educators?

Dr SPM: The future will reward those who can think, innovate, and adapt — not merely memorize information. Every child possesses extraordinary potential waiting to be nurtured. We encourage parents, educators, and students to embrace cognitive learning alongside academics. Neurochampionship is more than a competition — it is a movement to inspire young minds to become confident thinkers, creative problem-solvers and future leaders.

(Brain Rhyme is presently in talks with associates from Dubai Egypt, Nigeria and SA for conduct of championships in respective countries. It is open to networking and collaboration.
